This is Tina. Tina is an artist and a student at Sac State. She graduates next spring and will probably migrate to San Francisco or Los Angeles to see what life has in store for her. She may pursue photography as well. She has a piece in the Awards Show at Sac State and was also part of a show at The Blue Lamp this past month where she sold a couple of her pieces. You can still see both shows if you hurry. Her favorite things to draw are the figure, faces, and herself. Tina likes to get down to 70’s funk and Animal Collective, but her art has a melancholy mood. Tina is 22.

Favorite Accomplishments: Becoming an adult and realizing who you are as a person and how you fit into the world. There is always so much to learn from yourself and others.

Regrets: Not joining the school play in high school and not staying in L.A. longer. You can only make decisions based on what you know at the time, so you learn from everything that happens.

What are your passions/obsessions? I love people. I wasn’t always a people person, but I love meeting new people and establishing relationships. I love the different energy between individuals. When I draw or photograph, the human form is what I’m always drawn to. Especially faces. I think everyone is beautiful when they are honest with themselves.

What’s the hardest part of the body to draw? Feet. It’s also hard to get a true likeness of a person, so I’m always happy when someone says, “Hey, that really looks like me!”

Who are your favorite artists? Audrey Kawasaki. I also get inspiration from Booooooom.com.

Sound Off! Do whatever the fuck you wanna do, be whoever the fuck you wanna be!

Thanks Tina.
