“Are you Jewish?”

“No, sorry. Why?”

“You look Jewish, I wanted to wish you a happy Passover!”

So Eldad, or Eli, as he said I could call him, wished me a happy Passover. Eli had brought his family down to Venice Beach to hang out for a while. Eli is a Southern California native, born and raised in Tarzana. He went to Valley Torah in high school and played basketball, which he still loves. Eli attended UCLA as an undergrad and now goes to law school. He is married and now lives in West Hollywood. His favorite musicians are Matisyahu and the 8th Day Band. Eli is 24.

Favorite Accomplishments: Being an emissary. Every person has a G-D given mission to make this world a better place!

Regrets: “One action is better than a thousand sighs.” It’s better to do good and make things happen. Don’t regret your past, you can change your past.

What are your passions and obsessions? Making this world a dwelling for G-D. He is omnipresent but conceals himself so that we may reveal him.

What’s the toughest thing you’ve done? Law School!

Why do you want to be a lawyer? I want to give back. I’ll probably go into civil justice, civil rights law.

What is something about you, that even people who know you, would be surprised to know? That I’m spontaneous. That I would jump up on an open mike and do comedy or beat-boxing.

Sound Off! Every person, Jewish or not, is created to make this world a G-dly place. Through acts of goodness and kindness, we can have a domino effect. “A little bit of light dispels a great deal of darkness.”

Shalom.
