This is Liz. I met Liz having a smoke break outside of The Beat, Sacramento’s finest record store, on J st. She has been working there for about a month. Liz is a Sac native. She loves Sac. In fact, don’t ever ask her to leave. After graduating from St. Francis, Liz went to Dominican College in San Rafael. For one day. She freaked out and had to come home, she missed Sacramento that much. She has recovered and is now taking classes at Sac City. She plans on one day being an English Teacher. Besides working at The Beat, Liz has done some commercial modeling and is in the band G. Green, which she says has a lo-fi pop sound. Judge for yourself at their next gig on April 16th at the Hub. Liz is 21.

Favorite Accomplishments: Owning my own store at age 19. It was called Buff Castle and we sold vintage clothing, records, and old music equipment. Alas, the economy turned bad and the landlord wanted to sell the building, so we closed. I also trained for ballet for 15 years.

Regrets: Screwing up in college. Smoking cigs.

What are your passions and obsessions? I play in a band and book shows in and around Sac.

What’s the toughest thing you’ve done? Training to be a ballet dancer. It’s incredibly hard. I studied at Sac Ballet until I was 16 and hurt my hip. I had to have surgery and that was the end of ballet.

Sound Off! Sacramento is the best city, no matter what anyone says!
