This is Claudio. Claudio works at La Garnacha, a walk-up taco stand on 16th. He is from Oaxaca, Mexico and has been here around 8 years. He is still waiting for citizenship. Claudio made good enough money building frames for a lumber company to buy a house. That company went bankrupt 2 years ago and 100 people lost their jobs in a day. Now he makes do at La Garnacha. Claudio is 38.

Favorite Accomplishments: Being able to buy a house. That was my dream.

Regrets: Losing that house.

What are your passions/obsessions? Sports and reading self-help books.

What do you miss about Mexico? My family. My mom and dad and my brothers.

What do you find peculiar about America? Kids have no respect for their parents or family. Most people don’t cook, they eat out of a can.

What’s your favorite thing about America? There’s so many beautiful places, like San Francisco and the northwest.

Sound Off! Go Green! Save the planet!

Thanks Claudio.
