This is Fred. I met Fred at the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration downtown today. He is a high school senior who is on his way to SF State in the fall to study nursing. He’s a Sacramento native and he’s 17.
Favorite Accomplishments: Leading my football team (Sacramento High) to the playoffs for the 2nd time in 25 years.
Regrets: I don’t have any regrets. I just live day by day.
What are your passions/obsessions? I am passionate about cars and sports. I am obsessed with girls and money.
Why nursing? Easy money.
Do you feel that you have the same opportunities as any other citizen? Yes I do.
What’s the best thing, for you, about the march today? Just being here with everybody and seeing everybody.
Have you ever encountered an act of racism in your life? Nope.
Sound Off! Stay in school and don’t do drugs.
Brad, I remember MLK and the day of his march. He had a wonderful dream – and according to Fred, he DID overcome. What a day!
